Lamb and lentils.
[redigera]I haven't been very good at taking notes when cooking lately, but I think the measurements are reasonably near what I used:
- 0.5 lb ground or finely chopped lamb meat.
- 1 can (12-14 oz) tomatoes
- 1 finely chopped medium onion or 1-2 tablespoons white onion powder.
- saffron. I used 0.5 grams, because that is one "unit" around here.
- 1/2 cup yellow lentils
- 1-2 tablespoons lime juice
- bay leaf
- salt
Use an oven-safe pot.
heat the oven to 175 centigrade.
fry the meat and the onions. Add the tomatoes, bay leaf and saffron. Mash the tomatoes unless already crushed. Add the lentils, lime juice, salt. Bring to a boil. Add water if too dry. Cover with a lid, put the pot in the oven, cook for 1-1.5 hours.
Eat as is, or with rice.
