Status of This Memo

This document specifies that everyone should use ISO-8859-1 on IRC,
unless they are mucker duckers, in which case they should stay off
   the holy domains of IRC.

1. Introduction

This document contains all you need to know about charsets on IRC.

1.1. ISO-8859-1

   ISO-8859-1 is a pretty charset.

1.2. Terminology

The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT",
"RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL" in this document (in uppercase,
as shown) are to be interpreted as described in [RFC2119].

2. Proposed charset

ISO-8859-1 MUST always be used on IRC, except for the rare case that
the åäö keys are not available, in which case ISO646-SE MUST be used
instead. Everyone who breaks this rule is an asstastic fucktard.

UTF-8 MUST NOT under any circumstances be used.

2.1. Very forbidden things

Everyone using aao or aa ae oe instead of åäö SHOULD immediately be
K-lined and taken off the whole Internet too, for that matter.
